Support for Rotating Day schedules (A/B days, 1-6 days, etc.)

Currently our schedule is set up as Monday through Friday which works great for the non-shared staff but for staff who work in multiple buildings, it can be cumbersome. For example we have some buildings who operate on Day 1 through Day 6 schedule, so every day 2 the employee is at Building A and every day 3 they are Building B. If there's a snow day or a teacher work day, it's then adjusted automatically by the school (but not in Red Rover). There are other schools in our district who operate on an A/B schedule so every A day the sub would go here and every B day the sub would need to go here. When the schedules are built Monday through Friday, it's never usually the same so the teachers/associates are having to write a note to their sub telling them where to go rather than it being automated when finding a sub. Thanks for considering this in the future!

Support for Alternating Block Schedule

Like many schools we have an alternating block schedule. 8 periods with 4 periods on an A Day and the other 4 on a B Day. We have a number of teachers that have one schedule and may teach at one school on an A Day, while they have another schedule and may teach at another school on a B Day. It would be great if Red Rover would support an alternating Block schedule because these teachers' schedules can't work on a Monday-Friday schedule.

Teachers with Alternating Workdays

We have teachers that work varying days of the week in different schools (i.e. M & T in one school, W, T, F in another). Red Rover currently cannot accommodate this type of schedule.

Thanks for marking this as a planned feature. As you look at implementing this, can you also please factor in that we have some employees that work a certain number of hours on "A Days" and a different number of hours on "B Days". Right now we can only set a default number of "Hours in a Full Day" (for example 8 hours) and then manually adjust for each alternate day when they only work 6 hours. This becomes a bit tedious when we have an employee off for a multiple days for FMLA or disability.

Odd / Even Days

We have a group of teachers that have odd/even day schedules. Currently when setting up a schedule in Red Rover for one of these teachers we do not have that option. We have had to set up a generic schedule for them and when a sub is needed we have had to contact that sub to provide the details of what building they will be at that day since it differs on odd/even days.

we have something similar but with rotating days.

We do plan to add this function in the future!

It turns out these teachers have alternating work weeks, not days. It's quite possible I'm just not seeing it, but I don't know how to adjust for one week in one school, the next week in another, etc. How can this be done?

Larry Foxx
Lesley Forshee: you are correct. Red Rover is the only absence management system on the market that allows a schedule to be programmed
at all
, and we have some ideas for the future for how to accomodate rotating schedules like this as well.K

Larry Foxx: Thank you! Looking forward to a solution for our commuting staff with varying schedules.

Yes thank you Melissa Rossi and Janet Arroyo! Lesley Forshee you will find more info on that here: https://help.redroverk12.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039620212-How-to-Build-or-Adjust-a-Traveling-Teacher-s-Schedule
