Currently, an employee has the ability to see their schedule under Absence and then Regular Schedule. What it does NOT include is their lunch break, which is essential because that is unpaid time. IF Admin assigns an employee, particularly a teacher, to an incorrect lunch bell schedule at the start of a new school year, this can impact Sub coverage and it most certainly impacts their accrual calculations when inputting HOURLY absences.
For example, if Admin assigns them to a morning lunch bell schedule (11:00am -11:35am, for example), but it's actually 12:15-12:50, their accrual usage would calculate incorrectly if they record a morning "hourly" absence for a dentist appointment. This may also confuse the sub, depending on what sort of schedule detail they receive when accepting the sub assignment for the absence. (For clarity, we do not use 1/2 day absences. We are Full Day or Hourly only.
It would be FANTASTIC if the employee could have access to their full schedule information so they can ensure they were put into the correct schedule at the start of the year, and also keep an eye on it if their schedule changes (say at the semester or the result of a mid-year job transfer).
On multiple occasions we have had to work backwards to fix absences and accrual balances because we received preliminary or incorrect information about teacher lunch bell schedules and it wasn't discovered until well into the school year. And those are for the people who actually catch it at some point.
Open to suggestions if other districts have a better way to tackle this. Otherwise, PLEASE PLEASE consider adding this information to the Schedule display already present on Employee Views.
