Missed punch request with approval required

We don't want to open up our timesheets completely for manual entry. However, if the employee misses a punch or needs something changed, it's then up to their supervisor to fix it. It would be great if the employee had the option to enter their punch correction and submit it, but the adjustment request would then send to the supervisor for approval before actually accepting the punch.

Larry Foxx We tested this the other day and it doesn't go through an approval process. As it stands now, the employee enters the missed punch and it just drops right into the timesheet without approval. It seems no different than allowing employees to manually adjust their timesheets. I loved the feature right up until the Supervisor received no notification and indication that an employee manually updated their timesheet.
I chatted with Customer Service and said they would note this for future updates. Any idea when this may happen?
Larry Foxx
Carrie Duddles: it should come through as a regular approval request, and you should be able to setup an alternate process if you'd like for missed punches even to go through more steps if you'd like. We'll continue to iterate in this area for a while to keep building out more to it.

Larry Foxx I see that it goes through a regular approval request, but the problem with that is the supervisor would assume that the employee clocked in/out on the timeclock. A supervisor needs some kind of indicator so they can take a closer look at the time an employee manually entered instead of using the time clock.
If it's possible to set up an alternate process, I'd like to do that. How would I set up a missed punch to go through a workflow?
Larry Foxx
Carrie Duddles - in the workflow that you are using - you can set an alternate workflow for when the time entry is a "corrected" entry. We think that many districts might add a step for these corrected entries to go to an extra step, perhaps.

Missed Punch Process

Our secretaries are not finding the employee check in as useful as they had hoped. We really need a way for employees to be able to fix their missed punches as it is too time consuming for our secretaries. We would love a way for the employee to edit their timesheet, but have a notification go to their approver for approve/deny. If it's approved, the timesheet would automatically populate. If it's denied, it would not populate the timesheet. This would save so much time for our secretaries.

When are employees going to show up for approvers even though they are missing time? It does not make sense that an approver (principal) has to search for subs timesheets when it should pop on their approval list.

Timesheet adjustment form/process

In the event that an employee omits hours on their time sheet and the administrator does not catch the employees error it would be wonderful to have a form/process in the system for the employee to fill out and get approved that does not require the past timecard to have to be unlocked.

Could other districts share their current process for missed punches?

Yes! Please! Our secretaries are super frustrated having to manually enter all the missed punches.
