Larry Foxx - Will the minimum duration allow the staff member to create an absence but not call out for a sub using the hide functionality?
For example - we generally use the manual assignment feature for 1 or 2 periods absences, but I would want them to list as needing a sub to inform SUB Coordinators to make those arrangements.

Laura Fry - I would say as a period by period district, you may not use this feature right away. Primarily this is for districts that are entering both full day and hourly absences, and just want to draw a line in the sand to automatically mark absence less than "2 hours" for example to no sub required

Example:#24200416. The assignment was posted for a full day, but in two different locations. Unfortunately, she was only able to pick up the last period of the day (2:55–3:50) and still received pay for a full half day (4 hours) due to our substitute pay structure. I’m wondering how this happened, since the “allow sub to accept part” option was not checked.

It would be super helpful to have an absence rule to prevent external subs from picking up assignments under a certain amount of time. Teachers will not remember to select the "hide from subs" option when creating an absence. This results in external subs from picking up half hour assignments, when those should/will be covered by internal subs.

Setting for no sub if less than 4 hours

At our school if an absence is less than 4 hours they can't have a sub. I would like to request a setting that would stop they from getting a sub. Since that option isn't there I have to constantly cancel subs that picked up the assignment. The subs get upset about being removed even though I have told them several times about the 4 hour requirement. Same with staff I have told them to stop requesting a sub if less than 4 hours but they don't listen they still request a sub.

In my settings employees cannot enter absence less than 3.5 hours. Half or full day only. Less than half they have to work through the building.
