It would be great if teachers could BLOCK specific subs like they can add FAVORITES.

I think it is appropriate for a teacher to have the ability to block a sub. If a sub needs to be blocked from an entire building, then I think it's worth having a more formal investigation. Even with adding a note to the blocking of a sub, that note doesn't display anywhere without having to click the pencil edit button. I think that defeats the purpose if it isn't noticeably visible.

We have had a few requests for this as well, however, I actually like that the teacher has to have the office secretary/admin block for them. I would not utilize this feature in our district. We are short on subs as it is, and if there's a good enough reason to block a sub, the office needs to know.

We would not utilize this either. We have a Do not call process in place that we have specific paperwork submitted to block a sub. If you move forward with implementing this, I would want the option to turn this feature off.

I agree with Jody. I'd want an option to not allow teachers to block subs. We need all the subs we can get and if they are truly that bad- the teachers need to let Admin know so they can be blocked from that room or possibly the building.

We would not utilize this, Blocking is done by Admin only. Since we partner with a 3rd party, there is additional paperwork that is needed to filled out to finalize this. As an Admin, I can block a sub, but then require the building to submit the paperwork.
If you move forward with this, I would want to have the option of turning this off.

Jody Frank: I agree with Jody, we need blocking to remain an Admin function as we require documentation.

Wendy Cronk: Agree as well - this needs to remain an admin function.

This might be nice as an electable option but we have a process in place before a substitute is blocked so all of our complaints regarding substitute proformance are addressed in Central Office. We would not want our staff to be able to block a substitute without following the appropriate procedure.
