Calendar Event Type to handle non-contract days / summer break

We would also like a non-contract day. We just set all of our summer time to "Holiday" and now we have a ton of stuff that needs approved. Additionally...I don't know if other districts do this, but we do allow people that to earn comp time (rather than paid time) when they do training classes in the summer.

Yes, I agree! The word holiday is confusing when it is just a non-working day. It would help with summer non scheduled days as well.

The addition of a Building/District Closed or Non-Work Day event type rather then everything added as a "holiday"

Calendar Reason for summer break

We need a Summer Break reason for closure on the calendar, or just Break actually. So 10 month employees cannot enter absences for their volunteer summer positions.

Additional Calendar "Event" Category Timetracking Employees

Our district has a couple time tracking employee groups who are unscheduled during the summer, but will come work summer school on a very inconsistent or as-needed schedule. For the time being I have them assigned as "unpaid holiday" in their calendars because I do not feel comfortable with disabling their time tracking. This seems like it overwhelms the timecard and may cause a lot of questions because of the word holiday or cancelation. I would love to see something like "unscheduled" where they would not have a work schedule assigned but can still punch in or out.

I would love if there was a way we could add additional event types when creating calendar events.

Anna, is your option based on contract? We have employees who work these days to help in other classrooms, etc. if I tried this would it blocked the day so they could not added their hours?

Custom Event in Calendars

A custom event feature in Calendars would enable the calendar creator to designate Non-Attendance Days tailored to the specific needs and purposes of their district. This functionality allows districts to label these days as they see fit, such as for breaks or in-service days, rather than being limited to a predefined selection. Since Winter and Spring Breaks are not classified as holidays, this distinction helps avoid confusion regarding whether these breaks are paid holidays. To mitigate this issue, I would like the flexibility to name it whatever we would like.

Agreed! It would also be nice if we could have an option to default those Non-Contract events as "No Sub Required" for folks who forget to toggle off the sub needed button.
