Hey there everyone! You can now add comments or notes when editing leave balances! Here's how:
- Go to an employee's balances
- Click on the "3 dots" icon to the right of the balance you're editing
- Choose "Manually Adjust balance"
- In the pop-up, choose whether you're doing an adjustment or are "setting" the balance.
- At the bottom of the pop-up, you'll be able to add comments and notes!
Hope this helps! Keep the good ideas coming :)

Absence Balance Adjustments

If there could be a leave balance adjustment option if you need to add or remove days from someones leave balance - along with an option for a note. If our employees do not use rolled vacation days by december 31, they lose them. Right now we just have to go and change their starting balance. It would be helpful if they could see an adjustment section that shows the days deducted.

I left this comment on another idea, but I'm going to put it here also since this one has more votes, and is currently planned. We would really love the ability to import manual adjustments to leave balances. For us, this would be the key to making the new balance format really work.
We are very excited about the new balance format. We feel it's going to be much easier for the employee to follow and much more transparent.
Our state has written some complex laws around sick leave accrual, and we as a district have painted ourselves into some complicated corners when it comes to vacation accruals. My guess is that most other districts have painted themselves into similar (but slightly different) corners. Making the Accrual Policies robust enough to handle all of these is a tall task.
Importing manual adjustments to leave balances would be a huge value add! Especially as you work to build out the Accrual Policies.

Hi Mike Weisman! I noticed you marked this one as planned and are merging several other ideas into this one. Is there any chance that the post titled "Manually adjust balance in bulk/import" by Stephanie Nordstrom will be part of this update? Thanks!
Mike Weisman
Nick Rawson Hey there Nick! Not initially, but I was just sharing with our team about the additional need to import actual adjustments from that post, not just in the UI. It's being tracked as a separate idea that could get picked up in a future release. Thanks for checking!

Hey there Dana Look, thanks for reaching out! There is actually a new version of our balances that is now available upon request to our support team. If you pop into LiveChat, our support team can discuss next steps on having this turned on! This will allow you to add / subtract dates by adjustment rather than changing the starting balance, add notes when making changes, and see a dedicated "adjustments" column on the employees balances :)

Notes When Adjusting Comp Time Manually

At our district we manually adjust comp balances for time under employees scheduled hours to mitigate dock time. We would love to be able to leave notes when making comp time changes for accountability purposes and record keeping.

This is so critical! Right now it's not clear to employees OR to the system admins why certain changes were made. It's not transparent at all. We also get employees emailing us saying "You haven't given me my ____ days!" when we have in fact already done so.

Would be great if there was a "comment" section to document the reason a accrual is being changed. Unless I have missed something and there is!

There isn't. I have been using the COMMENTS section in an employee profile, but it doesn't link to a specific change in the accrual balances history. Hope that makes sense.
