Hey there folks! You can now mark certain absence reasons as "Requires attachment". You can also enter a custom message that will be displayed in the attachments section for further direction :)
Go to SETTINGS > ABSENCE REASONS. Click on an absence reason, and click EDIT on the right. Select the "YES" option under "Requires attachment". Add a custom message, and SAVE.
Keep the good ideas coming!

Absence reason required comments/questions

Wanted to share an idea that could help improve the absence entry process to make documentation more consistent.
For Jury Duty absences, it would be really helpful if the system prompted staff to enter their location of jury. Similar to how the required comment field works now but with more guidance. Sometimes our staff will indicate "jury duty" in the required comment box. Or even having the ability to enter customizable questions to add to specific absent reasons.
For bereavement absences, it would be awesome to include a customizable dropdown list of qualifying family members based on our CBA. Many staff members simply enter "funeral" or "bereavement" in the comment field without specifying the relationship.

This feature would be very helpful to us as well!

Would it be possible to require an attachment for a certain absence code, and only certain permission levels can view that code?

Information REQUIRED for certain absence reasons

When an employee enters an absence for Jury Duty, Bereavement, etc we would like the system to REQUIRE additional documentation such as a court document or obituary. Currently, the only solution is to link a google form that is not required to create the absence.

This would be good for certain types of absences. For example, we allow days for jury duty or if an employee has been issued a subpoena. If we could require an attachment for these types of absences, they could attach the copy of the subpoena or jury duty orders. Also, with military leave they could be required to attach their orders

Restrictions before Leave can be created

Could something be added where staff/employees would have to add documents to for example professional leave before it is created.
Larry Foxx
There is a spot there Misty for them to be able to add a document, but not a requirement. Would you still want that knowing that most absences are created on the app, where they may not have that document handy?

Larry Foxx: Sorry for the delay Larry in getting back with you. We are worried if we don't require that they will attach anything and our district requires this before we will approve that type of leave. May a toggle button added to require or not require depending on the type of professional leave would be helpful.
